Gar Robinson

Driver of the #74 Pura Vida Tequila / 74 Ranch Resort Chevrolet Camaro | 2015 Trans Am Champion & Rookie of the Year

Gar RobinsonHometown: San Antonio, Texas

Gar Robinson drives the No. 74 Chevrolet Camaro sponsored by Pura Vida Tequila and 74 Ranch Resort for Robinson Racing, owned by his father and former Trans Am racer, George Robinson. Gar was born in Houston and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Gar raced the full 2015 Trans Am season as a member of the TA2 class. The season kicked off at Sebring International Raceway on March 1, 2015, where Gar placed second in TA2. Gar’s racing resume includes Quarter Midgets, Legend Cars, Skip Barber Racing School, Spec Miata, and the Trans Am Series in 2014 and 2015. Gar competed in the final three races of the 2014 Trans Am Championship, also in the TA2 class, finishing an impressive fourth place in each race. “My most anticipated race in the 2015 season would obviously be at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX,” noted Gar. “Because Austin is one of my favorite towns to visit, and we will have lots of local support being that I am a Texas native.” Looking ahead in his career, Gar reflected on where he’d like to be in racing. “My dad has inspired me to be just as competitive as he was. In 5 years, I hope to have won a Trans Am Championship, increase my off-road racing activities, and be somewhere in IMSA,” said Gar. “In 10 years, I would like to be a successful driver and team owner in professional endurance racing and desert racing.” These were Gar’s goals as of March 2015. At the end of his 2015 rookie year, he had checked off the first one, becoming the youngest driver to win a Trans Am Championship in the TA2 Class.
